James Bond does not wear a cummerbund with his tuxedo, but if he should want to, what would we recommend?

Tuxedo update
Since my writings on party outfit get some attention every now and then, I am happy to show some improvement!
I found a pleated shirt at a close-down sale. It hides the buttons. When you wear a cummerbund you don’t button the jacket. I also found this bow tie and a black one, reasonably priced in second hand stores. Much better than those I manufactured myself from plain ribbon:

History of the cummerbund – part of party outfit

This is the original cummerbund: a long shawl tied around the waist. Soldiers in the Indian colonial army had it with their uniform. Their British officers took it up and brought it to the rest of the world. Kamarband in Farsi means “tied waist”. Very aptly, I bought this shawl in the Stockholm shop Indiska.
