This music has its own chamber in my heart
I just listened to some extracts from Bach’s St Matthew Passion, and as always, this great music of death makes me feel life, life, life! I have listened to it innumerable times, and sung it in choir some times too, and still it overwhelms me. Takes my breath, I could say. You certainly need a lot of breath to get through it in some three hours! As an amateur choir singer one could not be in anything greater and deeper than this.
