Happy St. Andrew’s Day!

Towel from Thistle Products.
I found it in Stirling, a shop near the railway station, sorry I can’t remember its name.
A nice day in Stirling
I did not win the Stirling Castle photo competition, but: ” Gillian [the manager] also very much liked Sven Wifstrand, of Sweden’s, cleverly taken photo of the outer defences through the battlements.” Not bad for a tourist with a pocket-size camera, eh?
Don’t buy here, go to Stirling instead

One more thing about Stirling
I wish I could show some more, but my pics are not very many and not very good, since I had bought my little Olympus just before the Scotland trip. In Stirling I found the best shop of Scottish souvenirs, just opposite the railway station, better than in Glasgow or Edinburgh in my opinion.
Filling Station

After we have seen so much, a pint of Tennents will do!
Inside information

A passage to the inner yard of the palace. I should think the drainpipes are not there when it opens again!
Ancient blots

As no more royals stayed at the palace, it was worn out during centuries of military use. Still the researchers have found traces of original wall paint.
Temporary support

In 2007, as I said, the Royal Palace at Stirling was shown to the public during reconstruction, but today it is not! So I will post some more of my interior pics. Reopening time is set to March 2011.
Hearsay

King James V kept a lion within the Stirling Castle, didn’t he, but the sculptor probably never saw it.
Explain anyone?

This I believe is Samson trying to wreck the temple, but why are there two Delilahs?
