Many kinds of thoughts coming up

It’s gonna be heavy

I will go to a metal festival tonight in Tyresö, a Stockholm suburb. Not my kind of music at home. To hear it live is quite another thing, as I have learnt from attending my son’s gigs. Now he is the percussionist of Phidion. Report will follow!

Update: it was great! Phidion played for half an hour, which is about what my ears can stand of this music when performed properly. The general meaning of it is that you feel it through your whole body, not just hear it. I haven’t got the gear at home to create that effect, and if I had, my neighbours would be mad at me. On Friday I will go to a gig by Phidion only. Tell you more then!

Postscript: it was not Phidion only. Phidion was the last band of four, so I had time for a late supper at the pub before I got into its basement where the gig was. The guys did really well!

  1. Live music is great, although I haven’t been to many concerts. Is metal music really popular in Sweden?

  2. Metal is popular in Sweden, yes. It seldom attracts very big audiences, but it has a substantial troop of faithful followers, and there are many bands.
